Sunless Tanning

Sunless tanning, which is sometimes called spray tanning, is a method of bronzing your skin without exposing it to the sun. This is done by using a pure, safe solution that works with your skin, to give it a natural, healthy glow.

The spray tanning solution is composed of a combination of purified water, natural sugars called Dihydroxyacetone (DHA), and salt bronzers.

The purified water has been filtered so that 99% of chemicals, minerals, chlorine, and other harmful elements have been taken out.

Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is simply carbohydrate (sugar) found in natural sources like beet sugar, and creates natural darkening of the skin when it is applied to the skin, in the appropriate mixture. DHA has been approved by the FDA.

Salt bronzers will not clog your pores, but will assist in exfoliating and moisturizing your skin, to bring out the best in your sunless tan.

Chemical-Free Spray Tanning

Our sunless tanning solutions at Daireds are not composed of any toxic or harmful dyes, chemicals, additives, perfumes, alcohols, or artificial colors. It is all-natural, and recommended by the American Academy of Dermatology, Skin Cancer Organization and The American Cancer Society as an alternative to regular tanning in an effort to prevent skin cancer.

All sunless tanning is applied with an applicator spray gun with drying air nozzle, the result is an even, all-over natural looking tan in minutes with no streaking and no staining.

Spray tanning is applied with an applicator spray gun which has a drying air nozzle. This is used to spray the right combination of tanning solution and air onto your skin- drying it almost immediately, and does not cause any streaking or staining. You will have a beautiful, flawless tan that will continue to darken over the following 4-12 hours.

Here is how it works - Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is a color-less carbohydrate (sugar) that works with your skin cells to produce a bronze color. DHA works with the proteins that are found in the outer layers of your skin, creating a chemical reaction that results in a beautiful, natural looking tan.

Spray tanning does not color or dye your skin. A light coloring agent allows the technician to see where the spray has been applied, assuring that no sections are missed. However, it is the DHA which produces the tan, and begins to work with your skin within one hour of application, and will continue working for up to eight hours.

Shaving and/or waxing should be done before a sunless tanning application. It is also best to shower and exfoliate your skin before your arrival (showering should not be done for at least 6 hours after application).

Be sure that your skin is free from lotions, oils, gels, deodorants or other products that could create a barrier that might cause the tanning solution to be applied unevenly.

You sunless tan will generally last between 5-10 days. Spray tanning is $50 per session or $45 as a companion treatment with a body scrub (scrub priced separately.)
