ARLINGTON, TX – Daired Ogle, owner of Daireds Salon and Spa Pangea, has been elected to serve on the Professional Beauty Association’s (PBA) Leadership Council. His two-year term will begin September 1, 2009.
 
Ogle was nominated for this position by the PBA Salon Leadership Council Nominating Committee earlier this year and was elected by PBA salon members based on experience and contributions to the salon industry. PBA represents the interests of the professional beauty industry from manufacturers and distributors to salons and spas. PBA serves the industry with education, business tools, government advocacy, networking and more. Ogle will join eight other Leadership Council Members during his term, who are also highly respected leaders in the beauty industry.
 
Daired Ogle opened his first hair salon in 1978 and later expanded by adding five spa treatment rooms. Today, with approximately 100 employees, Daireds Salon, Spa Pangea, Med Spa, Conference Centre & Café is the only facility of its kind in the Southwest. The 17,500 sq ft facility offers all the services of a destination spa, packaged in a convenient urban setting providing guests everything but an overnight stay. The concept offers treatments from around the world to create a menu broader than a typical day spa.
 
Throughout his career, Ogle has tackled tough industry issues. In 1996, he implemented mandatory drug testing and a New Talent program to ensure a high standard of professionalism in his salon operations. “The New Talent program tests employees’ dedication to their profession and guest service,” says Ogle. “And drug testing, back then and even today, is a hot button in this industry.” Current hot buttons for Ogle include the fight for the Cosmetology Tax Fairness and Compliance Act, and the fight against both breast cancer and domestic violence.
 
Ogle has been honored with numerous industry and business awards. He is a member of the Professional Beauty Association, The International Spa Association and local Chambers of Commerce.
