To get Sandra's sleek look, Daireds Stylist Hayley McDaniel suggests staying away from the flat iron. "Flat irons can cause more damage than they're
worth. Use a flat brush made of boar hair and synthetic bristles to achieve a smooth, shiny look," says McDaniel. Start by sectioning the hair and applying a thermal/humidity protectant oil. Blowdry with the flat brush and add a gentle wave at the end by using a ceramic round brush. McDaniel applied her favorite finishing product, Bumble & bumble grooming cream, to give it a seal and prevent fly-aways. "If your hair isn't naturally shiny and healthy, start with a deep conditioning treatment to get the super shine only achieved with healthy hair," adds McDaniel.
Make Up Tips:
Sandra's natural, golden glow was achieved by using Jane Iredale Tinted Moisturizer, Golden Glow pressed powder (bronze 3) and Sheer Honey blush. "The tinted moisturizer is very popular for providing lots of coverage without a made-up look," says Shay Scott, makeup artist at Daireds. "It's the best way to achieve the highly desired airbrush look."
"The key to replicating Sandra's look are the bold lips, nude eyes and very groomed eyebrow shaping. These are the items that make the statement," says Scott. The powerful, bold lips were created with a Berry lip pencil, Renee lip color and Cosmo lip gloss.
Her Look:
Neutral metallics dress up the look. Simple diamond studs as accessories keeps the focus on her natural radiance and that gorgeous dress. To create a more casual look for everyday social occasions, replace the gown with skinny jeans and accessorize with a beaded handbag.
Stylist Secret:
If you hair is too short or you're growing out a style, add extensions. To keep the style going, don't forget the basics: maintenance trims every six weeks is a must to eliminate split ends and keep a great shine.
