Treating Facial Veins and Rosacea
According to womenshealth.gov, at least half of women in the United States suffer from some form of vein problem. Facial veins, or “spider veins,” can be a frustrating issue for those seeking a more even skin tone. While makeup may mask some facial veins, the tiny, web-like red and blue lines can be difficult to hide.

Before/After Laser Treatment
Appearing most frequently around the nose and cheeks, facials veins are primarily caused by backup of blood or exposure to the sun, but can also be hereditary. More severe cases are classified as Rosacea.
“Some people have a lot of them and if they get excited or if they drink alcohol, they flush real easily,” said Lynda Valdez, nurse practitioner at The Med Spa at Daireds.
Fortunately, a non-invasive treatment exists that can help reduce the appearance of facial veins. An IPL laser, or “intense pulse light,” can treat these veins by utilizing a green light that minimizes their redness.
“The laser absorbs the heat as it coagulates that vein,” Valdez said
Results can be seen in as little as one to three treatments. If more than one treatment is required, it may be due to a larger vein that’s causing redness at a deeper level, Valdez says.
Treatments can be scheduled as frequently as three to four weeks apart. Aside from minor swelling, there is virtually no down-time after a facial vein treatment. Clients can experience a more even skin tone within a matter of minutes.
